Is there a way to shoot pictures or video with my smaller compact digital camera then import this into Flixel?

MarkRess 11 years ago updated by Flixel 11 years ago 1

I don't always want or have my iPad on me because it's bigger than my smaller digital camera so wondering if I can shoot pictures and video with my smaller pocket sized digital camera and then import those into Flixel so I can create flixels with those photos and videos. I do see the option in my iPad to view the Camera Roll but how do I get the motion effect with say a series of 7 photos with my digital camera into Flixel?

Can it only be videos shot with the digital camera that I can flixel?

I believe I understand this but not sure so that's why I'm asking.

My goal here is to upload 100's if not 1000's of flixels just documenting art and interesting shots everywhere I go and see.

Thanks for your time.

Editing Flixels already uploaded

Darren Toohey 11 years ago updated by Flixel 11 years ago 3

Once I have taken a flixel, edited it and uploaded how can I re-edit it and upload it again?  I have uploaded some but now want to change the filter and maybe change what parts are moving but can't change it once uploaded.  Would be great if Flixel keeps the original photo/video in a file so you can create multiple uploads from it.

Is their an "official" flixel guide or set of video tutorials for folks to learn all about how to use Flixel?

MarkRess 11 years ago updated by Flixel 11 years ago 1
I believe I have a good enough handle on how to use Flixel but wanted to know if there was a guide or video tutorial set that you can point me to so I can read up on Flixel and it's features (how to use them) in case I missed something. I already scoured YouTube and seen what you have posted there.

Thank you.

When I upload to Flixel, you can see where I painted in the movement. :(

Change from backwards-loop to normal repeat?

Michelle Cheung 11 years ago updated by Flixel 11 years ago 1

Where can I change the settings? Is it possible to trim the loop? I also noticed people talking about adding filters (it said that the normal version had fewer options, but I can't see any at all). Has all this been removed in this version?

Do I need the Pro version to do these things now?

How can we upload our Flixels to YouTube? Is that a feature that is coming??

MarkRess 11 years ago updated 11 years ago 2

I wanted to post my pictures on YouTube or the Flixel Living Photos on YouTube, how we do that?

Is that a feature you guys have coming soon I hope?

can't enable access to photos on my phone

I'm lost here. How the heck do I get to some actual support? I need the answer to some questions. This is ridiculous. Just post an email or something for support. Q&A pages are annoying, and never, ever, ever, ever, ever, helpful. Never will be.

Just stop with this kind of answer pages.

What are some ways to take better Flixels?

Flixel 12 years ago 0

Done right, a Flixel can be a thing of mesmerizing artistic beauty or hilarity. Done wrong, they can lead to rips in the fabric of space-time. Luckily, it's not hard to take great Flixels once you 'get it'. One of our talented Flixographers (@RyanColeman) wrote a great guide to Flixography , which we'll summarize here

1. Choose the right setting/scene

Consider what you'd like to capture; is it a busy scene where you'd like to isolate some specific motion, or a fully animated scene with an interesting loop effect?

2. Make sure you're steady!

Arguably the most important aspect, especially when creating cinemagraphs. It helps immensely to rest your device on something solid during the capture. Failing that, it's also a good idea to have a solid static background behind whatever it is you'll be animating - solid backgrounds make it easier to hide stability imperfections.

3. Capture and tweak your image to create seamless looping

Since Ryan's article was written, reverse-loop has now become the new default behaviour for Flixel. The key to creating a quality Flixel is for the animation to be seamless. Sometimes a reverse loop can look silly, so in those cases you can change the "Loop" setting to forward, and use the "Trim" feature to edit the start/end timing to create a seamless loop.

Hopefully that helps! Feel free to share your own Flixel tips in the comments

Unfollowed people are still in my feed.

Ponder 11 years ago 0

There is a person who I had followed, but now she posts disgusting nightmare fuel and I have UNfollowed her. But her stuff is still in my feed.

I cannot ignore her ugly movie ripoffs, and you seem to love her so she's in the Featured feed all the time, which ALMOST makes me not want to even open this app anymore...
